Hannah and Haley came from Fairbanks Alaska to spend time with the whole family. We had alot of fun!!! The girls all got along really well and had a great time. I think we hit just about every shopping place in the valley!!
In this pic, Hannah and Aly decided to trade glasses. These two are two of a kind!! They got along great. I couldn't ask for more!!!
On one of our trips to South Towne Mall, we stopped in to see the girls cousin Karlee who works at Kiddie Kandids. She took a really cute pic of the 4 of them together, so i snapped a few pics as they were getting ready!!
What cuties!!!
This my fave pic of the 4 of them!! They were so much fun!!! New Years Eve was lots of fun. The girls played on the computer, down loaded cell phone ring tones, played Wii, made pizzas. They went for a walk around the neighboorhood to see who was still up. They set off fireworks and banged pots and pans!! It was a great night for all of us!!

What a beautiful Red Head we have!! She is a real beauty...13 going on 21!!!
WOW WHAT A CUTIE PIE!!!!! Look at those baby blues!!
Little K and A posing for Mom!!! Love those smiles!! Dad and his Girlies!! AWWWWWWWWWWWW Sisterly love!! LOL What a pretty evening in Draper Park
Here is where the story began!! Written into our contract with ReAL for selling them the property to build this amazing stadium, I decided to add that i think MY DAD should get to kick out the first soccer ball in the new stadium. We have been anticipating this for about 2 years now. I personally didn't think it would get to happen!!
Kandace has turned into such a huge soccer fan since we have been going to the games at the old stadium for the last two years. I would never have guessed that that would happen. She has never played on a team but has fallen in love with ReAL and major league soccer (MLS) and all it represents. She was even able to work her love for this into a small part time job as "SCHWAG GIRL". She has helped with player apperances and has thrown SCHWAG out at different events. They have paid her in shirts!! Her wonderful boss Brett was even able to get her a signed David Beckham jersey. WOW!!!
Well, to keep the story going...Gramps decided that his back was hurting on this particular night and he would not be able to kick out the ball himself!! Hummm..what a dilema..who could help him out...I wonder..(well actually i didnt have to wonder!). Dad and i have had this planned for months but didn't know it would happen until a week ago. I've kept this a secret for Kandace for a week now. Anyone who knows me, knows how hard this has been. I wanted it to be a HUGE suprise to her..and i think it was. Gramps asked her to go with him and kick the ball on his behalf!! What an amazing honor this is for all of us!!
If these pics all line up right, (since i'm still new to this blogging thing) you will see how it all happens. I really wish i had a pic of the actual kick, but i just didnt' get the shot!!
I love you Dad for making this happen for my darling daughter and the rest of us. I think i've been more excited than anyone!!
Kani-- You are very special to me and i love you with all my heart!!
ps..it's now 1 am...if these posts don't make sense or there are misspellings, please forgive this very excite, but exhausted mom!!
We certainly need a pic of Aly in here!! She was a great sport and a big supporter of what her big sister was doing. I was kind of worried that she would be upset by all the attention Kani was getting, but she didn't. I'm really proud of my girls!!
Ok..lets see if i can get this straight: Sandy City Mayor Tom Dolan, ReAL President Dave Checketts, Some big guy with ReAL, Gov. John Huntsman, Ardell Brown (who we affectionately call Gramps) and the Shining Star of the Night...MISS KANDACE!! Was that a photo opp or what!!! This is definitely one for the wall!!
The back view from my perspective....i begged the nice gate keeper man to let me go take a front view for myself, but rules are rules i guess and he was only doing his job, which tonite i must say, was not an easy one!! Remember, he had to deal with a Stage Mom!!! LOL
WOW....How many 13 year olds can say they got their pictures taken with Grandpa and Gov. John Huntsman!! Not to mention getting to kick out the first soccer ball the start the First game at the New ReAL Stadium!!!
Gramps is sure proud of his new ball!! It's signed by all the players and he even had Dave Checketts, Mayor Dolan and Gov. Huntsman sign it. A Special ball, for a very Special Night!!
The Streamer Cannons had just gone off as if to Welcome them to the field!! The look of happiness is worth a thousand words as they say!! I'll keep the thousand smiles i got from them and everyone else on this amazing night!!
Here she goes!!! With Gramps right at her side!!! It was only a small kick, but a kick that will go down in the record books, at least for this family!!!
This was taken RIGHT after the big Kick!! I really wish i had gotten a better pic, but that smile says it all on both of their faces. I'm shaking as i type this for all the excitement of our big night!!!
What a Night!! This is one for the scrapbooks (if i ever decide to actually make one!!) This was taken as they walked off the field. Their pics were being taken by the media and Dave Checketts was there again to shake hands!!
Kandace as she comes back into the stands to greet me and take her seat. I was crying and shaking out of excitement for my darling "little" girl. This has been a couple of hours she will never forget ~~at least i hope not!! Thanks again to everyone who helped make this a special night for all of us!!! Rachel with ReAL was amazing to work with and made our dreams come true. Thanks everyone!! Love ya..and good night...or should i say morning???
